Submissions

Submissions

MCC students, The Metropolitan accepts your submissions year round with a deadline for each year’s issue. We seek high quality writing  of all types–academic and literary writing, including descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive works, as well as creative prose and poetry, and more! Keep in mind that you do not need to be a professional writer, artist, or photographer to submit your work here. As you polish your work, we suggest you keep readers in mind, browse selections in our archive, and talk with others about what you’ve written–you might want to consult with the Writing Center. Simultaneous submissions are allowed for the Metropolitan, and you are also allowed to submit to the Metropolitan multiple times! Know that the magazine is only 32 pages in length, and longer submissions may go online.

The 2022 General Submission deadline is extended to Wednesday, February 15, 2023
